We are running rancid across our N7k's successfully. (2.3.2 - so not
even most recent) <br>
<br>
The old "#" in the banner is a common mistake. Any "control
characters" such as '#' really shouldn't be used in banners. Breaks
all sorts of stuff.<br>

where are the #'s coming from? from your tacacs, i suspect.
that looks<br>
like a cli prompt to clogin.<br>
