> We upgraded from 3.1 to 3.6.1 recently and noticed that the Inventory output changed significantly breaking some parsing/reporting.  This also breaks from the Rancid standard for gathering/displaying the ! information.<br>

The change was intentional; its more easily parsed by consumers and humans<br>

and was also a work-around for a bug in a defunct ios release.  so, if you<br>

wish to have the old format, you may extend rancid your own function to<br>

format ShowInventory; see ciscoshtech in rancid.types.conf for an example.<br>
