Components Affected Description
A0200-1
M
XVR-1000 Graphics Accelerator (X3256A) SunBlade 1000/2000 and Ultra 60/80 systems may exhibit a blank screen upon boot up with an XVR-1000 Graphics Accelerator installed.
A0189-1
U
Monitor 21-inch and Expert 3D Lite Graphics PCI (X3684A) Ultra 60/80 and SunBlade 100/1000 systems with Expert3D-Lite cards and certain 21-inch monitors will have to either add or replace the monitor adaptor.
A0186-1
U
SunPCi II (375-0131-04) and SunPCi IIpro (375-3051-01) cards SunPCi II and SunPCi IIpro cards may not respond after rapid/successive power cycling.
A0182-1
C
18GB and 36GB IBM disk drives 18GB and 36GB IBM disk drives experiencing high failure rate in high humidity and high temperature environments.
A0164-1
C
FC100/P FC-AL PCI Card (375-0040-02 or below) A host system using the 375-0040-01 or -02 FC100/P FC-AL PCI card to attach to FC-AL storage (StorEdge A5x00 and A3500) may experience loop errors, which may affect data access to that storage. In extreme cases, this can result in the host losing its connection to the storage completely. However, it is more common for the loop errors to be intermittent initially, perhaps becoming more frequent over a period of days or a few weeks. The failures are sometimes sensitive to the data pattern on the FC-AL loop, so they are not always reproducible with current diagnostic software.
A0158-1
U
System Board (501-4450-13) Ultra 60 systems shipped out of Sun UK may experience crystal reliability issues which results in mutliple failure types.
A0153-1
U
System Board 501-4450-10 (or below) SCSI transport soft retry errors could occur on Ultra 60 systems running external Ultra SCSI I/O devices. When there is a Sun MultiPack connected to the onboard external Ultra SCSI port, the system gives errors in the /var/adm/messages file.
A0149-1
M
System Board (501-4450-10/11) Ultra 60 systems with the 501-4450-11 motherboard (or the 501-4450-10 with Deviation sticker WO_14997) and 1 GB of memory installed have a high probability of experiencing undetectable data corruption. This could lead to corrupted application results and unstable system operation.
A0146-1
U
FFB2+ Vertical/SB (501-4789-05 or below); FFB2+ Vertical/DBZ (501-4788-05 or below) Systems with FFB2+ installed may experience right shift of horizontal lines that contain the cursor and/or border line curves toward the mouse pointer when the mouse pointer is placed close to the left border of a cmdtool window. This can be easily seen when you set the FFB resolution to 960x680x112s with cmdtool's foreground color set to black and background to white.
A0142-1
U
System Board (501-4450-08/09) Ultra 60 system may hang when attempting to update flashPROM via patch 106455-03. When attempting to update the flashPROM from OBP 3.11 version 25 (525-1701-08) to OBP 3.11 version 26 (525-1701-09) the system will hang during the ERASURE procedure. Once this happens, the flashPROM has the OBP half erased and is unable to boot.

PGX PCI-based 8-bit Frame Buffer (370-2256-02)

Systems with a PGX PCI-based 8-bit Frame Buffer may display a vertical black stripe when running the OpenWindows environment. This occurs only with frame buffers with an Fcode version 1.09 (determined by reading the label on the EPROM located at U4 on the frame buffer: 113-377-1-109).
