PROBLEM DESCRIPTION :
Delorean 72-inch StorEdge Cabinets shipped before July 12, 1999 may have
unusable Anti-Tilt stabilizer rails.
During installation of a 72-inch StorEdge Cabinet it may become apparent that
it is not possible to fit the Anti-Tilt stabilizer rails to the cabinet screw
studs. Some rails may fit initially, but subsequently they may bind in use or
become completely jammed. This may make the rails unusable. In some cases
rails may even fall off, as persistent binding can loosen the screw-in studs.
This problem may become apparent some time after installation, following a
number of rail extension and retraction operations.
In the event that equipment in the 72" StorEdge cabinet is serviced without
the
rails being properly extended the rack may become unstable.
The root cause was determined to be related to the stabilizer's channel depth
which needed to be deeper. New Anti-tilt stabilizer rails were created to
correct this issue.
All 72-inch StorEdge Cabinets shipped since July 12, 1999 have this new style
Anti-tilt stabilizer. Corrective action was made available in Enterprise
Services via the release of a Rack Stabilizer Kit (Sun p/n 370-4342-01) via
ECO# WO_19451 as of January 19, 2001 and LEAPs 1318 and 1401.

CORRECTIVE ACTION :
Upon failure (or need) or at customer request install Rack Stabilizer Kit
(Sun p/n 370-4342-01) per instructions included with kit.
Reference the Sun StorEdge Expansion Cabinet Installation and Service Manual
(Sun p/n 805-3067-11, page 1-5 and 1-6) for installation information.
COMMENTS :
BILLING TYPE:
Warranty: Sun will provide parts at no charge under Warranty
Service. On-Site Labor Rates are based on how the
system was initially installed.
Contract: Sun will provide parts at no charge. On-Site Labor Rates
are based on the type of service contract.
Non Contract: Sun will provide parts at no charge. Installation by
Sun is available based on the On-Site Labor Rates
defined in the Price List.

i) In case of Mandatory FCOs, Enterprise Services will attempt to contact
all known customers to recommend the part upgrade.
ii) For controlled proactive swap FCOs, Enterprise Services mission critical
support teams will initiate proactive swap efforts for their respective
accounts, as required.
iii) For Replace upon Failure FCOs, Enterprise Services partners will implement
the necessary corrective actions as and when they are required.
