PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:

Some Sun Blade 100 systems fail to automatically restart subsequent to site
power failures and resumption (AC power cycling), and therefore must be
restarted manually.

Root cause was isolated to the the M1535D ALi Southbridge chip power management
unit (PMU) circuitry on the motherboard. This circuitry is responsible for
latching current state of power - standby or on. Upon loss of power, previous
state is retained in a PMU register by external battery power. PMU register
values were being intermittently corrupted during the power cycle event. The
motherboard PMU circuitry has been modified to be more robust.

Corrective Action was made available in manufacturing on August 05, 2002
via ECO W0_24091 by releasing part number 375-3106-01. Corrective Action
was made available in Sun Services on August 29, 2002 via LEAP# 2055.
