PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:

The SBus SCSI Host Adapter or SSHA is available in two part numbers,
501-1759 and 501-1850. It should be noted that only specific part
number/revision levels are supported and will work in the above
mentioned Products Affected.

When a SSHA card P/Ns 501-1759-02 or lower, or a 501-1850-01 is
installed into one of the systems mentioned above the system will not
pass Power On Self Test (POST). The system will hang when it probes
the SBus slot that the effected SSHA SBus card is installed in. The
501-1850-01 and 501-1759-02 or lower have an older revision of Fcode
prom.

CORRECTIVE ACTION:

When using the SSHA SBus card in ANY of the above systems insure that
the card in use is a 501-1850-02 or above. The 501-1850-02 or above
SSHA SBus card is the ONLY compatible SSHA SBus card for the systems
listed above.

COMMENTS:

The Online version of the Field Engineer Handbook has been corrected
to reflect the above. Please refer to the Online version for the most
complete and accurate information regarding this issue.
