PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
When an UltraSPARC 2, 167MHz CPU module with CPU revision 2.2, and
an UltraSPARC 2, 167MHz CPU module with CPU revision 4.0, are
installed in the same Ultra 2 system having an OpenBoot
firmware version of 3.1.2 or lower, the default CPU speed
reverts to 148MHz. Instead of the system running at 167Mhz, the system
will run at the lower speed.
This is due to an incompatibility in the system's OpenBoot Firmware,
specifically the incompatibility as to how each version of the
CPU reports its "speed code", a 3-bit number, to the OpenBoot Firmware
through the RISC chip.
CORRECTIVE ACTION:
Install patchid 
104169 or higher.
COMMENTS:
To view which release and version of CPU module is installed, use the
following;
i) From the "ok" prompt, check OpenBoot revision level using the
".version"
command. This will display release and version of the CPU Module board.
The patch is required if the system has one 501-2942-01 module AND one
501-2942-02 module AND the system's OBP release shows this:
ok .version

The patch is NOT required if the system's OBP release is 3.1.3
or greater. The system's OBP release shows this (or a later release
number than 3.1.3):

Alternately, the OBP version can be detected online under Solaris with
the following command:
/usr/platform/sun4u/sbin/prtdiag -v | grep OBP
ii) To determine the module configuration online, under Solaris 2.x
without opening the box and looking for part numbers, use the
/usr/platform/sun4u/sbin/prtdiag command and inspect the output.
The display under the "MASK" column of the CPU module indicates
the module version number.
If the system has a 501-2942-01 module, the prtdiag output looks like:
