PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
Fcode upgrade instructions for the FC100/S Host Adapter supplied with the
following luxadm patches can lead to obsolete fcode being installed.
105310 SunOS 5.5.1: Patch for socal, sf driver, and luxadm
105375 SunOS 5.6: sf & socal driver patch
107473 SunOS 5.7: luxadm patch
109529 SunOS 5.8: luxadm, liba5k and libg_fc patch
The latest fcode for the FC100/S Host Adapter has been moved to patch
109400 for all versions of Solaris. This change is not reflected in
the README files of the luxadm patches currently available (105310,
105375, 107473 and 109529). These patches still provide a lower
version of the FC100/S fcode (1.11) and give instructions for
installing it.
PDE plans to remove the FC100/S fcode from these luxadm patches at the
next revision. The README files will be rewritten to reflect this
change.
Patch 109400-xx should be used to install the latest fcode for the
FC100/S Host Adapter. This latest version supplies numerous bug
fixes.

CORRECTIVE ACTION:
An Authorized Enterprise Field Service Representative may avoid the
above mentioned problems by following the recommendations as shown
below.
To upgrade the fcode for FC100/S Host Adapter boards, first install the
required luxadm patch below:
Solaris 2.5.1 - 105310
Solaris 2.6 - 105375
Solaris 7 - 107473
Solaris 8 - 109529
Follow the instructions in the README up to the point where the README
gives instructions for upgrading the FC100/S fcode. Stop at this
point, and continue by installing patch 109400.

Implementation Footnote:
i) In case of MANDATORY FINs, Enterprise Services will attempt to
contact all affected customers to recommend implementation of
the FIN.
ii) For CONTROLLED PROACTIVE FINs, Enterprise Services mission critical
support teams will recommend implementation of the FIN (to their
respective accounts), at the convenience of the customer.
iii) For REACTIVE FINs, Enterprise Services will implement the FIN as the
need arises.
