PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:

Replacement of the System Configuration Card (SCC) in Netra 20 systems
previously resulted in extended system downtime because the board was
not orderable as a FRU. Delays of many days could be encountered in
ordering a replacment part via the non-FRU process.

The System Configuration Card is a daughter board attached to the
System Board of Netra 20 systems. It contains the system NVRAM, HostID
and the MAC Address. The SCC was not released as a FRU when the Netra
20 product was introduced and the part has only been orderable through
the non-FRU process until now.

Engineering has now released the SCC as a FRU via ECO W0_24636. The
new FRU part number is F370-5155-01.

Here is current SCC FRU availability for each Geo:

   Americas: 79
   EMEA: 33
   APAC/Japan: 49

See the two recommended options below for replacing a defective SCC
board in a Netra 20 system.

CORRECTIVE ACTION:

The following recommendation is provided as a guideline for authorized
Sun Services Field Representatives who may encounter the above mentioned
problem.

their current MAC address, replace the faulty SCC with FRU F370-5155-01.

OR

2. For customers who require a replacement SCC with the same MAC address,
follow the process shown at the following URL:
