Question:
Is there any way to identify the CPU types (333/400-4/400-8) within a
system ( Sun Enterprise[TM] 3X00 - 10000)?
 
If I had a "CPU Mask-to-CPU Type" key, this might provide the answer
provided the CPU Masks are unique to CPU types.
 
prtdiag -v output and my records suggest that the following table is
correct.  Can anyone verify or correct?
 
         CPU MASK        CPU TYPE
            2            333 MHz
            9            400 MHz 4 MB E$
            10           400 MHz 8 MB E$
 
One discrepancy is that prtdiag output shows the CPU MASK 10
CPU's as only 4 MB E$.  So either the table is wrong, or the prtdiag
is wrong, or the CPU's have downgraded to 4 MB E$.  But all CPU MASKs
are the same on a per system board basis.

Answer:

Do not rely on the CPU mask number.  It has no relationship to
the E$ size.

prtdiag gives E$ size in human readable form:
