Description
SE9900 DUMPS

There are three different methods of gathering information from a SE9900 array.
Each method gathers different information that is vital to resolving
complicated issues. This document will explain what each type of method is
and it's importance.

1. FDCOPY
An FDCOPY will gather and compress all log information for the subsystem. This
log information is stored in two places: C:/DKC200/LOG and the F: drive, which
is the Flash memory card. The Flash memory card has the most up to date log
information and the FDCOPY gathers the Log information from both locations.
The output of this file will be saved to a .lzh file and can be saved to the FD
or the HD, which can be changed with a [<control> <shift> <h>]. If you save to
the HD the file will be saved to the C:/DKC200/tmp directory with a file name
of Hdcp.lzh. The FDCOPY does not run a dump, it only gathers files and
previously run dumps. The previously run dumps can be dumps from MP's during
operation or actual dumps that have been run manually. Note that the
previously run dumps are removed during an FDCOPY.

2. Manual Dump
A Manual Dump is also known as a one touch dump. It gathers dump information
from all adapters (Micro processors) in the subsystem. The output of a manual
dump will be located in the C:/DKC200/TMP directory with a filename of
Hdcp.lzh. Note that it is necessary that a Mantenance status display and
version status should be run before doing a dump. The maintenance status
display and the version status cause the subsystem to gather the most current
information. We want to make sure that the most accurate information is
gathered in the dump.

3. Auto Dump
An Auto Dump = FDCOPY + Manual Dump. When performing an Auto Dump select the
Normal and HDD options then hit OK to kick off the dump. If a FDCOPY is taken
prior to an Auto Dump the dump information has already been removed by the
FDCOPY process and therefore the Auto Dump will not contain the vital
information as the dumps no longer exist. The auto dump will overwrite any
previous FDCOPY's so it is essential that you rename any previously run
FDCOPY's, so that the FDCOPY output is not lost. Always check for previously
run FDCOPY outputs and make sure to note the file generated date so that we
don't overwrite the old information.
