SOLUTION SUMMARY:

Explanation:

UltraSPARC[R] III platforms could be susceptible to Correctable Fast ECC (UCC) errors that could cause a system panic resulting in loss of service of the system.

The root cause for this issue is related to the hardware architecture of the UltraSPARC III family, particularly in how the "Fast ECC" trap is handled by software at elevated Trap Levels (TL>0). TL>0 means a trap occurred within another trap handler.

Action:

You should first confirm that patch ID 108528-15 for domains with Solaris 8 is installed. Systems running Solaris 9 are not affected, and pre-Solaris 8 is not supported on these platforms. If the Solaris 8 patch isn't installed, ignore the messages and install the patch. If it is installed, you should investigate a possible hardware failure.
