- Problem Statement: 

HPOST check fails: BBC reset status does not show XIR issued

- Symptoms:      

ERR: xcp_send_xir_to_port() and lpost_xir_proc_for_reinsertion()

A. 'setkeyswitch on' hpost (any level) testing intermittently will fail with the
following error:
 
 stage exp_lpost: Domain-level board and system tests...
 ERR: xcp_send_xir_to_port(): BBC SB6/BB0 reset status does not show XIR 
 issued for Port SB6/P0.
 ERR:    BBC SB6/BB0 reset status: 00001000  mask: 00000008
 lpost_xir_proc_for_reinsertion(): Attempt to send XIR to Proc SB6/P0 failed            

- Troubleshooting:

 A. This hpost failure occurs intermittently.  Running the setkeyswitch operation
a second time will normally succeed.

 B. The problem can be reported against different processors in the domain. 

 C. The failure surfaces after installing SMS 1.2 patch 112488-05 or greater and
when the LPOST version is 5.13.0 or less.
 
 
- Resolution:

 A.  Problem is corrected in LPOST version 5.13.1 (or higher) which is provided by
SMS 1.2 patch 112829-03. You must flashupdate the CPU fproms on all system boards
in the domain. See the special instructions in the patch README and the flashupdate
man page for details.

- Additional background information:

Patch 112488-05 modified Sun Fire 15K hpost to use XIR in a number of places where
safari reset had previously been used. This turns out to be the fault of save_reset_reason()
in the firmware, which clears the reset status register after saving the reason. This
means the sender of the reset is denied access to important status which adversely
affects diagnosability.
