You guys have it all wrong.  Email or call the guy (from a disposable 
address) and ask for a quote on a big order of high dollar gear.  Then, 
when you get that quote "oh, I'm sorry, you spammed a technical mailing 
list.  We don't do business with spammers.  Now you can go foad."
