[rancid] CISCO switches getting TIMEOUTs

When using clogin to log into a CISCO switch i am able to get to the enable
prompt but i cannot issue any commands (see below)

Error: TIMEOUT reached

ver: ver: No such file or directory
[smadmin at dcoc2v configs]$
As you can see i try to do the "show version" command but nothing happens.
Funny thing is after i get the TIMEOUT error my command seems to be echoed
to my unix prompt.
Any ideas guys.
