Personally, I would vote against a patch that removes more keys. If anything, since this is used to archive configurations as well as track changes, I think keys should be included. Here is where some of my ignorance will probably show, but here goes anyway: How about a command line option that you can turn on or off hiding the key values?

key <anything>
Seen it on the ASAs for TACACS+ and radius keys.
License: Whatever it takes to get it accepted to rancid.
