[rancid] cannot open file router.db for comparing

I am running rancid 2.3.2 on OpenSolaris, I have a problem that it seems that the router.db is not found when it has not been updated.

cvs diff: Diffing .
cvs [diff aborted]: cannot open file router.db for comparing: No such file or directory
cvs commit: Examining .
cvs commit: Examining configs

Previously it ran OK and router.db was found when router.db was updated.

cvs diff: Diffing .
cvs diff: Diffing configs
cvs commit: Examining .
cvs commit: Examining configs
/tank/rancid/xxxxx/CVS/XXXXX_RouterSwitch/router.db,v  <--  router.db

I have a remote CVS repository that is updated via SSH. Configs are being backed up OK and I can see diffs on the routers.

Any suggestions?
