[rancid] Using Ravin's patch to jump through a gateway device to probe device not working in 3.1?

Hi all,

Back in the 12th of June of 2014 Andrei Sabau inquired about Ravin's patch.

Andrei (or anyone else for that matter):  Did you get it to work?
Did you use the same patch as for version 2 (which I do not think so, but let me make sure). Would you mind sharing where you obtained the version 3 patch (or did you modify it yourself?)

I have a problem where using Ravin's patch may provide a solution.
