DOC: 806-3463-10 Instructions, Netra ft 1800 CAF Upgrade
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
Radiated emission levels can be higher than the specified level on fully
configured Netra ft1800 Telco Servers. Symptom is not visible to user
and can only be found during qualification testing.
No error messages associated with this problem.
Root cause found that emissions seal not maintained by CPUset lid and CAF
link of chassis ground on PCB to front panel. Fix is to add EMC spring
fingers inside the CPUset module cover to ensure the top cover connects
to the front panel at all points.
Fix in CAF is to introduce a EMI gasket to connect the shells of the RJ45
network connectors to the front panel by a lower impedance route.
These fixes were implemented in Sun Manufacturing via ECO# WO_15768 in
late August 1999.
Additionally these fixes were made available to Enterprise Services via
ECO# WO_16323 as a kit (Sun p/n 540-4376-01) on November 03, 1999.
Reworked FRUs will have Deviation sticker "DEV WO_15768" for
visibility.
