BugId: 4355989 - Sun Ray firmware does not recognize new type MicroPayflex
and Payflex cards.
PatchId: 109127 - Sun Ray Enterprise Server version 1.1 Update Patch.

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
Users will not be able to utilize the Hotdesking feature of Sun Ray
systems shipped prior to October 2000 with newer type Payflex and
MicroPayflex smart cards if the systems are running Sun Ray Server
software 1.0 or 1.1. Hotdesking is the feature that allows users to
access their desktop sessions from any Sun Ray appliance within their
workgroup. The newer Payflex and MicroPayflex cards will not initiate
a user session, although users may still login without the smart card.
When the user inserts one of the new smart cards into the slot, the
"Unrecognized Card" icon will be displayed and the user will not be
able to access any Sun Ray sessions.
Newer MicroPayflex and Payflex cards identify themselves to the system
differently than the older cards. They utilize a new encoding format.
New code has been written into the Sun Ray Server Software to recognize
the new cards. The Sun Ray firmware must be updated via a patch to allow
it to recognize the new cards.
The version of MicroPayflex card which was originally supported was EOLed by
the card manufacturer. The Sun Ray engineering group has added a fix to the
software to support the new MicroPayflex card and the Payflex card.
Sun Ray Server Software version 1.2 and any subsequent versions will contain
the fix for this problem. Users who wish to continue to use Sun Ray Server
Software 1.0 or 1.1 can download patch ID 108303 or 109127.
