BugId: 4420544 - lom -p command does not detect changes in DC input on
Netra T1 DC 200.
PatchId: 110208 or later - Netra Lights Out Management 2.0 patch.
DOC: 816-1307-13: Netra T4 AC100 Release Notes.
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
Without Patch 110208 installed, the Lights Out Management features
of LOM 2.0 Software are not fully functional for Netra 20 (formerly T4)
systems. The current release of Netra LOM 2.0 Software included with
the Solaris 8 Supplemental CD does not provide full support for the
Netra 20 Servers.
Netra 20 systems delivered to customers and Sun Solution Centers
will include the LOM Firmware at revision 4.4. This revision of LOM
firmware fully supports LOM operation on AC powered systems, but has
the following limitations with DC powered systems:
The LOM command 'lom -p' is unable to detect DC input power changes.
The LOM firmware reports removal/restoration of DC power at the LOM
serial console, however changes are not detected by the 'lom -p'
command. In addition, modem communication functionality is limited.
The root cause of the problem was initially discovered on a machine
with LOM firmware v3.7. The firmware was upgraded with 'lom -G' and
upon restarting, 'lom -p' correctly detected that one of the PSU inputs
was not present. Subsequent restoration/removal of the inputs did not
change the output of 'lom -p'.
To allow successful operation of the Netra LOM 2.0 Software on the
Netra 20 (T4) Systems, Patch 110208 should be installed. This patch
supplies LOM firmware version 4.5 and it is available now from
SunSolve.
This required software patch to the Netra LOM 2.0 Software will be
included in the Supplemental CD supplied with the Solaris 8 Update 7
release.
IMPLEMENTATION:

---
| x | REACTIVE (As Required)

CORRECTIVE ACTION:
The following recommendation is provided as a guideline for authorized
Enterprise Services Field Representatives who may be encountering the
above mentioned problem.
1) Check which LOM version is installed from the LOM prompt.
lom> version
Then the screen will display with the following.
LOM version: v4.4
OR
Check which LOM version is installed from the Solaris # prompt.
# lom -c | grep version
Then the screen will display with the following.
firmware version=4.4
2) If the version is 4.4 or lower, install PatchId #110208-11 or later.
NOTE: The patch 110208 updates the firmware to v4.5
