Xpdat:- Starfire POST Dump Analyses Tool
----------------------------------------
Xpdat is tool that can be used to analyze E10000 POST dumps, i.e Arbstop or
recordstop dumps. It is based on a script written in the redx interpreter
language and is intended as an aid to analysis, but not a replacement for redx.
Xpdat is not part of the released E10000 SSP package, and is not supported
by DHPG engineering. It was written, and is under continuous development
by Chris Maughan. Support is currently provided by the EMEA Technical Centre.
It is designed to be used only by E10000 trained engineers who have a
basic understanding of the hardware architecture, but perhaps do not use
redx often enough to remain familiar with all the commands. It can be
particularly helpful for tracing errors through the interconnect, when
the history register commands need to be used.
The aim is to quickly trace errors to a FRU, however in many cases the
failing ASIC can be pinpointed. If there are multiple errors in a file,
the source of each one will be traced. A log file is created of each
session.
The tool can be installed and used on any Starfire SSP, and can be
