Configuring 336-MHz CPU into a Sun Enterprise Ultra[TM] E10000 |
|
17 Jun 2002 |
After upgrading an Enterprise 10000 System from 250-MHz processor modules
to 336-MHz CPU modules (Part# 501-4363), upon reboot, the 336-MHz CPU
modules are NOT auto-configured into the system. You will need to manually
change the clock multiplier from 3:2 to 2:1, for configuring the E10000
sytem with the 336-MHz CPU modules.
After upgrading the E10000 system with 336-MHz CPU modules, from the SSP, run
the SSP command:
sys_clock -p two-to-one -s
The sys_clock command must be run before the system
is brought up (Before POST is run).
To check the multiplier value, type:
sys_clock
COMMENTS:
To prevent a system crash, do NOT perform the sys_clock command on a running
system.
