|
28 Jun 2002 |
PROBLEM:
Need steps to create a backup SSP.
Also need procedure to convert SSP from main to backup.
------------------------------------------------------------
SOLUTION:
1) Backup from original SSP
a) $SSPVAR/.ssp_private
b) $SSPVAR/etc
c) /etc/ethers
d) /etc/hosts
2) Load SSP packages on spare SSP.
3) Restore files from step 1 on backup SSP.
4) Edit ssp_to_domain_hosts and change ssp host name to that of the new SSP. Fix /etc/hosts as needed.
5) Run ssp_config and answer "N" to "Are you currently configuring for the MAIN SSP?"
Basic steps to convert from one SSP to the other:
1) On original SSP, Run ssp_config and answer "N" to "Are you currently configuring for the MAIN SSP?". Reboot
2) On new SSP run "ssp_config spare".
3) On new SSP run "ssp_config cb".
4) Reboot new SSP.
