How to run xscope on SunRays, i.e. non-0 displays? |
|
13 Mar 2000 |
THIS IS INTERNAL INFORMATION ONLY. FORWARD TO CUSTOMERS WITH GREAT CARE
ONLY.
xscope is a program that is freely available to check x applications and
servers and is commonly used in the Windows team to debug customer X
application problems.
On SunRays, the problem is that you do not have display hostname:0.0,
but instead you are working on display hostname:9:0.
How do you use xscope in this scenario:
xscope -o9 -i11 -r -v0 > /tmp/output.xscope
makes xscope start up on DISPLAY originally :9.0
then in the separate window, set DISPLAY to :11.0
then display the application to `uname -n`:11.0
xscope will list on display :11 and intercept and log X11 calls
to it.
