Dedicated Interconnect vs VLAN |
|
30 Jul 2002 |
Dedicated Interconnect vs VLAN :
Dedicated Interconnect :
1. There will be only sunray traffic on the interconnect.
2. It is controlled and limited by sunray servers.
3. This is recommended over VLAN since the physical bandwidth is not shared in
this case.
VLAN :
1. Physical bandwidth resources are shared with uncontrolled (non-sunray) traffic.
2. Switch backplane bandwith and/or link between switches is shared.
3. Improperly configured VLAN could lead to dropping of Sunray packets.
