41564 | How to enable and disable utload for managing the firmware on Sun Ray (TM) appliance | 14 Dec 2001 |
Status | Issued |
Description |
The utload command is the Sun Ray (TM) appliance firmware download utility. The utload command sends a request to a Sun Ray appliance to initiate a firmware download. This command is meant to be used only on the appliances.
Enabling the upload command
The default is set to true. In order to enable it follow the procedure below.
1. Open the /etc/opt/SUNWut/auth.props file with the text editor.
2. Locate the Allow Firmware Download section (near the end of the file listing), uncomment the entry and set the value to true.
allowFWLoad = true
Disabling the utload command
Set the allowFWLoad value to false to force all users to stay on the same firmware version. This renders the utload command inactive and prevents a user from downloading firmware to an appliance.
1. Open the /etc/opt/SUNWut/auth.props file with the text editor.
2. Locate the Allow Firmware Download section (near the end of the file listing), uncomment the entry and set the value to true.
allowFWLoad = false
