Description |
Customers have been installing this Low Voltage Differential card in supported systems
not running Solaris[TM] 8 or higher. Check below for the requirements and driver information.
1. The minimum operating system is Solaris 8 with the Recommended Patch Cluster.
2. The necessary driver for this HBA is not included in Solaris 8 or Solaris 9, it must be downloaded.

To Download and Install the Driver Packages
1. Log into the host to be connected to the array.
2. Go to www.sun.com/software/download.
3. At the bottom of the middle column, under Browse All Products click View All.
4. Find Sun StorEdge [TM] PCI Dual Ultra3 SCSI Host Adapter v1.0 in the ALL PRODUCTS LIST, and click the link.
5. If you have not already registered, click the Register button, complete the registration form, and click the second Register button when done.
6. Enter your Personal ID and Password, and click the Log In button.
7. On the Legal/License Agreement page, read the License Agreement and click Accept and Continue when done.
8. Find the table of files to download for the version of the Solaris operating environment on which you are installing the driver. On the Sun StorEdge[TM] PCI Dual Ultra3 SCSI Host Adapter 1.0 page, find the packages listed under the column heads for one of the following operating environments: Solaris[TM] 8/SPARC Platform or Solaris[TM] 9/SPARC Platform
9. Download the two required packages, choosing between 32 bit and 64 bit according to your configuration, and download the README file. For 32-bit configuration download the following two files:

For a 64-bit configuration download the following two files:
SUNWqusx.tar.Z
SUNWqusux.tar.Z
For the README, download the following file:
PCI_HBA_ReadMe.txt
a. Double-click on the link to the desired file.
b. In the Save As dialog box, enter a destination directory for the file, and click the OK button.
