Upgrading the capacity of drives on T3 partner pair
User has a T3 partner pair and would like to (for example) change his all 18GB drives with 73 GB drives.
Here is what needs to be done:
Work with the Alternate Master first.
(a) Take good backups and unmount the filesystem(s) from the host
(b) Unmount and remove the volume(s) (note: we are working with just Alt Master now)
(c) shutdown your Alternate Master and replace all the drives
(d) Bring it back up and create/mount your volume(s) the way you would like
(e) Now restore the data to the mounted filesystems.
When everything is operational again on the Alternate Master, start working on Master
Reason why the process is different on Master: psos needs to be secured otherwise T3 might end up not booting and we would need to setup for tftp boot then
(a) Take good backups and unmount the filesystem(s) from the host
(b) Leave the leftmost drive in there and start working with the next (second) drive on.
(c) Replace the drives (starting the second one from left) one by one and wait till reconstruct is done after each replacement depending on your volume(s) configuration.
(d) Now when all the drives on the right side of the leftmost drive have been replaced, replace that leftmost drive.
(e) Now in order to utilize the bigger size of the drives, you would need to recreate/mount volumes from scratch and then restore the data to the mounted filesystems later.
