"/sbin/cvcd-(HOSTNAME:'domain'): lost data output" error |
|
27 Apr 1998 |
Just after starting a netcon session to a domain you sometimes get the error:
/sbin/cvcd-(HOSTNAME:'domain'): lost data output
or if have installed Patch-ID# 106311-01 then the error message changes to:
/sbin/cvcd-(HOSTNAME:`domain`): TLI socket write error Resource temporarily unavailable
If you restart the netcon session, you generally don't see the error again.
It may re-occur again days or weeks later.
SOLUTION SUMMARY:
When a Starfire domain is running, the cvcd daemon is used to communicate with
netcon. If the netcon is not running, the cvcd daemon buffers the console
output until the next netcon is started.
Sometimes when netcon hasn't been run for some time, the console output is too
much to hold in cvcd's buffer. When this happens, it produces the above error.
This is nothing to worry about and cannot have any impact on the running of the
domain.
In order to avoid this error and keep a useful log of what is sent to the
console, see INFODOC 15786.
