Can't see LUNs and drives after terminating creation process using Raid Manager |
|
15 Nov 2000 |
User was creating some LUNs. The process took some time, and user terminated
the LUN creation process prematurely by rebooting the system.
Upon reboot, user complained not seeing the LUNs, and the drives were not
returned to the unassigned pool User wants to recover the disks and
recreate the LUNs.
SOLUTION SUMMARY:
During LUN creation, the Raid Manager software creates a lock file:
/etc/osa/lunlocks. Deleting this file will release the lock.
If the Raid Manager gui was up during the file deletion, the user
needs to close and restart the gui. The configuration window will show the
state of the LUN that was being created at the time of the process
termination as incomplete. The next step is to delete the incomplete state
configuration to release the drives back to the unassigned pool.
