How to boot to the 32bit kernel on Solaris 7 running on a Ultra10. |
|
3 Mar 1999 |
By default on the Ultra-10 (200 Mhz or greater) the kernel that
comes preloaded is 64 bit. A customer wants to run the 32-bit
kernel by default everytime he does a reboot.
SOLUTION SUMMARY:
Edit your boot-file environment variable from the ok prompt.
(To get to this prompt, halt your system.)
setenv boot-file kernel/unix
See also the boot(1M) man page - there is a lot of information here concerning
how to boot the 32-bit or 64-bit kernel.
