Recovering from a Netra t1 CDROM Failure |
|
27 Dec 1999 |
Netra t1 machines may have a problem booting from cdrom. An error you might
see is "bad label".
SOLUTION SUMMARY:
Here is the combined fix:
1. Reseat the CDROM cable at both ends.
The next step is key to this procedure.
2. From the ok prompt:
OK setenv auto-boot? false
OK set-defaults
OK reset-all
3. OK boot cdrom -s
When the machine gets to the '#' prompt type 'exit' and this should start
the installation program.
If booting from CDROM still fails after trying all these steps, a new CDROM kit
should be ordered. The part # is 540-4358 this includes the CDROM
drive and cable.
