Customer has an Ultra Enterprise 220R and wants to run Symon to monitor this system. The Symon application is seeing this system as an Ultra 60 system. The customer wants to know how to fix it.

The Ultra 220R uses the same motherboard, nvram, OBP as the Ultra 60. There are OBP parameters, "banner-name" and "enclosure-type", that need to be changed for the particular system.

The parameter can be changed with the OS running using the "eeprom" command, or at the "ok" prompt.

eeprom:

# eeprom "banner-name=Sun Enterprise 220R"

# eeprom "enclosure-type=540-4115"

You can verify the change by executing the eeprom command and grep for banner-name or enclosure-type, eeprom |grep banner-name. No reboot is required.

OK prompt:

ok setenv banner-name Sun Enterprise 220R

ok setenv enclosure-type 540-4115

You can verify the change by executing printenv banner-name and printenv enclosure-type

This also applies to the Ultra 80 and Enterprise 420R.
