Running diag-level = mem2 or mem1 on Sun Fire (3800-6800) server causes timeouterror. |
|
14 Aug 2001 |
When running diag-level= mem2 or mem1 on a Sun Fire server, the following
error may occur:
Domain-A.POST: Timeout on {/N0/SB2/P0} for timeout value 2400 seconds
Domain-A.POST: {/N0/SB2/P0} has no heartbeat
(repeated for each processor)
Domain-A.SC: Excluded unusable, failed or disabled board: /N0/SB2
This causes the system board to be failed or disabled for the domain during
POST. The result of which could be unnecessary replacement of system boards
and or memory.
SOLUTION SUMMARY:
Run diag-level= max instead of mem2 or mem1 when the timeout error
shown above has occurred.
See bugid 4424609.
