Flash updates on SC fail on Sun Fire (3800-6800) using SunWebserver 2.0 |
|
14 Aug 2001 |
Performing flashupdates on the System Controller, using http with SunWebserver 2.0,
fails with "Unable to load flash images into memory" during Auto Flashupdate.
firmware updates on system boards and I/O boats work fine.
SOLUTION SUMMARY:
See Bug ID 4452029 for suggested fix, or Use Apache webserver or FTP for flash updates to the System Controller.
INTERNAL SUMMARY:
From Bug ID 4452029.
The fix has been putback into ScApp 5.12.5_07 *and* RTOS 18. You need *both* for the fix to be effective. If RTOS is outdated or ScApp is too old, the flashing will occur like before (done in Java). If the 2 new versions are installed, VxWorks will see the autoflash bootflag and will do the job.
[note: if you only flash ScApp, there will be only one reboot instead of two.]
