Sun Fire (3800-6800): Flashupdate over ftp fails if user has special characters within password |
|
14 Aug 2001 |
When using flashupdate with the user:password option for ftp, and the user
has special characters in his/her password such as '!', '?', '#', flashupdate
simply returns to the SC command prompt.
Example of what will cause the problem:
flashupdate -f ftp://userbob:p?ssw!rd@10.10.10.1/var/tmp/111346-02
SOLUTION SUMMARY:
There seems to be an issue with the SC's shell interpretation of these
characters. Currently, the only workaroud is to change the password, or use
anonymous ftp or http.
