40783 | Solaris[TM] missing LUNs 8 and 9 with Sun StorEdge[TM] 9900 | 8 Jan 2002 |
Status | Issued |
Description |
After configuring Solaris for new LUNs with third party storage or StorEdge 99X0, LUNs 8 and 9 are missing in format output.SOLUTION SUMMARY:
Assuming LUNs are mapped to host correctly from storage, check the configuration in /kernel/drv/sd.conf. Entries in the following format for LUNs 0-9 are invalid:
name="sd" class="scsi" target=0 lun=07;
name="sd" class="scsi" target=0 lun=08;
name="sd" class="scsi" target=0 lun=09;
name="sd" class="scsi" target=0 lun=10;
For LUNs 0-9, identifier must be single-digit, as follows:
name="sd" class="scsi" target=0 lun=7;
name="sd" class="scsi" target=0 lun=8;
name="sd" class="scsi" target=0 lun=9;
name="sd" class="scsi" target=0 lun=10;
This problem has only been seen on LUN numbers 8 and 9. Zeroes preceding LUN nubmers 0-7 will not cause a problem, but is not recommended for consistency.
