While running SunVTS[TM] 4.5 on a Sun Fire[TM] 12K/15K (5.8 10/01) domain, the domain continues to panic with the type 'isp_scsi_impl_pktfree: freeing free packet`.

NOTE: It is important to note that the problem describes this issue occurring within a SunVTS stress test. This is not the only way this issue presents itself; it is just an example for publication to this page.

Explanation:

This appears to be Bug ID 4530368. This bug was reported on a Sun Fire 15K running SunVTS 4.5 and Solaris 8.

Action:

This issue was escalated to CPRE as escalation 535874. The result of the escalation were the following fixes:

Install Schizo 2.3 I/O Boats, install patch ID 112665-01, and SMS level SMS 1.1 as long as all the patches are applied, including 112080-05 or use SMS 1.2.

As a result of the escalation, FCO A0193-1 was created. This problem should only ocur on Sun Fire 15K servers shipped prior to April 1, 2002. See the FCO for details.
