47469 | Sun StorEdge[TM] 9970/9980 System: Symptom:Does not see Recently Added LUN | 23 Oct 2002 |
Status | Issued |
Description |
Description
On a 9980 there are several luns already mapped and being used by the the Solaris host.
After mapping a new lun, Solaris after devfsadm does not see the new lun.
After "boot -r" none of luns are seen not even the ones that were seen before.
Neither "devfsadm" nor "devfsadm -C" nor "boot -r" get the luns presented by the 9980 to show up in format..
The /kernel/drv/sd.conf was checked to make sure the targets and lun entries existed and were defined correctly.
SOLUTION SUMMARY:Solution section
The JNI cards that are on the Solaris may be hung. Power off/on the Solaris host.
Now the luns can be seen.
