47696 | Mirroring the boot disk with VXVM3.2 to Sun StorEdge[TM] 3310 sets up wrong devalias | 7 Oct 2002 |
Status | Issued |
Description |
Upon mirroring the boot disk to a logical drive on the SE3310 Veritas Volume manager creates a devalias with an invalid path, see below.
Rebooting with command: boot vx-rootmir
Boot device: /pci@9,600000/pci@1/scsi@5/disk@2,0:a File and args:
Evaluating: boot vx-rootmir
Can't locate boot device
{6} ok
see bug 4756512
SOLUTION SUMMARY:Solution: Simply create or change the devalias with the correct path.
Since the SE3310 uses the sd driver the correct path would be
/pci@9,600000/pci@1/scsi@5/sd@2,0:a
To modify the current devalias run the following command.
{6} ok nvalias vx-rootmir /pci@9,600000/pci@1/scsi@5/sd@2,0:a
{6} ok reset-all
Double check your work..
{6} ok devalias
vx-rootmir /pci@9,600000/pci@1/scsi@5/sd@2,0:a
Now you can boot the mirror if needed simply by typing.
{6} ok boot vx-rootmir
