For IOS XR, RANCID already has this:

# filter frequently changing files from IOX bootflash   
        if ($dev =~ /bootflash/) {
            next if (/temp_cont\s*$/);
            next if (/uptime_cont\s*$/);

Would adding another line for 'volt_cont' be all that's 
needed?
