18GB and 36GB IBM disk drives |
18GB and 36GB IBM disk drives experiencing
high failure rate in high humidity and high temperature environments. |

Power Cords (530-2265-02 or less, 530-2674-01,
530-2266-02 or less, 530-2568-02 or less, 530-2567-02 or less, 530-2675-01)
|
Ultra Enterprise E5x00 and E6x00 systems, and Delorean 72-inch
Rack power cords with pre-tinned wires violates UL 1950 standard. |

|
POST, PRTDIAG |
Enterprise Servers E4500, E5500 and E6500
may report false error messages when running POST, PRTDIAG, or during system
boot-up. |

|
Differential Ultra/Wide SCSI, UDWIS/S
(370-2443-01) |
Systems with large quantities of UDWIS/SBus
Host Adapters installed may not come up after reboot due to miscommunication
between the SCSI host and the target. Large configurations with many UDWIS/SBus
Host Adapter cards are more vulnerable due to higher probability of encountering
the reboot problem. |

|
FDDI 5.0 SAS/DAS (370-3142, 370-3143,
370-2339, 370-2340); SPARCcenter 2000 |
SPARCcenter 2000 will fail Power-On Self-Test
(POST) in extended mode with FDDI 5.0 SBus controllers installed with an
unexpected data_access_exception error which could cause the system to Watchdog
Reset. |

|
PGX PCI-based 8-bit Frame Buffer (370-2256-02)
|
Systems with a PGX PCI-based 8-bit Frame Buffer may display a vertical
black stripe when running the OpenWindows environment. This occurs only
with frame buffers with an Fcode version 1.09 (determined by reading the
label on the EPROM located at U4 on the frame buffer: 113-377-1-109).

|
SBus/FC SOC+ Host Adapters |
SBus/FC SOC+ Host Adapters may experience
recoverable data transfer read errors. This can result in individual user
applications, like Oracle, to stop running. |

Disk Board (501-3113-02) |
At system power up, the disk board (501-3113-02)
does not turn on. This problem may be seen in the field if one of the following
two scenario's occur: (1) a disk board is added to a system with a pre-existing
disk board or (2) a system is upgraded by adding other modules (CPU, I/O
boards, etc). POST will fail with 'SCSI_VDD' error message in DIAG mode. |

Terminal Concentrator (370-1434-02) |
When the Annex Terminal Concentrator is
powered on, it sends a break signal to each port, bringing down any attached
Sun Servers to the OBPROM prompt. Although any attached server can survive
a power failure on the Annex Terminal Concentrator, the servers will be
interrupted when power is restored to the Terminal Concentrator unless the
serial cables are disconnected while the Annex Terminal Concentrator is
performing its POST. |
