no blame being flung from here!  perhaps maliciously trying to spark
discussion.  but, i believe rancid isnt the right place for config
generation.  i might even say impractical for that kind of jobs, but
perhaps my expectation of such a system is greater than is necessary.

yes, that is the draft and the maillist is (currently) ops-nm at ops.ietf.org
(i think ops-nm-request@ works for subscription).
