6-Slot FC-AL Backplane

Sun Fire V880

Option 6751

501-4878

Notes

  1. Jumpers J0803, J0804, and J01003 are on the solder side.
  2. Loop-B Board 501-4877, Backplane 501-4878, and cable 530-2681 were replaced by Backplane 501-5993 with integrated FC-AL Loop-B.
  3. Cables 530-2745 and 530-2863 include 8-Pin connectors.
  4. Connect 530-2863 P1 to J0801 on the Lower 6-Slot Backplane.
  5. Connect 530-2863 P2 to J0801 on the Upper 6-Slot Backplane.
  6. Do Not connect Power Distribution Board cable 530-2745 to J0801.
  7. Cable 540-2840 comes from the factory connected to P18 on the I/O board for base backplane operation. It is tie-wrapped to the rear wall, to the left of the expansion backplane. The secondary I/O fan may have to be removed to reach it.
  8. NOTE: When updating the disk backplane firmware using patch 111474, the superuser prompt will return after issuing the luxadm command in step 2 of the patch instructions. You must wait at least 15 minutes after the superuser prompt returns before continuing or performing any other operations. This minimum wait time is required for the flash update process to propagate the firmware code to all SSC100 processors in the system.
